Recruitment Specification
This post holder must be a graduate of a service training institute or a BAE Systems company approved training scheme.  A Tornado training course dealing with all aspects of the Tornado weapon systems is a preferred requirement as is previous fast jet experience.  Knowledge of the weapons used within the RSAF on Tornado is also preferred.  The nature of the job requires a valid driving license.
 
Recruitment
The job holder would ideally have a military background or company maintenance activity providing it is from an Armament speciality and knowledge of all aspects of weapon loading and servicing of role and support equipment.
 
Job Accountabilities
·     Servicing, repairing, testing and trouble shooting of Tornado role equipment to include weapon release systems, target towing equipment and all aspects of  gun and its associated equipment.
·     Carry out Time Compliance Technical Order (TCTOs) and special inspections when directed.
·     Support deployment to other bases when required and be able to prepare equipment to support this.
·     Carry out first line investigations of bomb hang ups, misfires and gun stoppages and prepare reports.
·     Prepare items for calibration.
·     Have a working knowledge of the RSAF supply systems so as to be able to carry out all demands.
·     Have a mind set for safety and knowledge of explosive regulations.
·     Be able to use the RSAF technical manuals and understand the reporting systems for discrepancies.
·     Have thorough knowledge of the Aircraft safety devices and the safe area pertaining to the Aircraft when loading and be able to prepare the Aircraft  for maintenance.
·     Be able to fit, remove and test all role equipment fitted to the Tornado aircraft.
·     An understanding of all the weapons and safety devices fitted and used by the Tornado Aircraft.
·     Be able to work as a team when fitting, loading and unloading of weapons.

Aircraft Software Engineer-BAE Systems-Riyadh

As the Software Engineering, the Job Holder is responsible to the Aircraft Software Manager  for providing day to day advice to RSAF Officers on matters pertaining to software engineering for all RSAF aircraft and support equipment. Provides a primary point of contact for all RSAF software engineering issues. Enhance RSAF engineering authority capability with regards to aircraft software engineering. The jobholder will provide concurrent engineering support and advice across an extensive number of projects under rapidly changing requirements and priorities.  The jobholder is required to act under his own initiative, developing a sound understanding of customer requirements, which are often not fully defined. The Job Holder is responsible to have a great deal of the success he achieves will be dictated by the relationships he establishes with customers and his ability to use his own initiative, engineering and management skills to satisfy RSAF requirements.  Diplomacy, tact, flexibility and adaptability are required along with a flair for rapid and accurate appraisal of problems.  The jobholder must always remain aware of the varied cultural and political nuances when dealing with customers from many nations. He should have the ability to manage timescales for problem solution which can range from long term programmes to immediate responses with the customer demanding the highest quality in all cases.
 
·        Provide advice and assistance to the RSAF section manager.
·        The Software Engineering Manager is responsible to the RSAF Section Manager for managing all softwares and programs for all platforms.
·        Participation and discussion of the statement of work (SOW) related to softwares.
·        Supervision for all aircrafts software modifications and updates.
·        Construct databases for software and engineering reports to maintain configuration control.
·        Participation in aircraft support equipment and test equipment software design.
·        Provide RSAF Officers / Personnel with training both informal and in a formal classroom situation.
·        Perform data analysis and failure mode analysis to identify where potential savings can be introduced.
·        The jobholder is required to create original designs for engineering solutions that demand imaginative innovation.
·        The jobholder is required to be flexible to deal with a wide range of problems with rapidly changing priorities emanating from a number of different sources.
 
The post holder should be flexible adaptable and be able to support all bases in kingdom, RSAF HQ and any location within or out of the kingdom as requested/directed by the RSAF Director of Aeronautical  Engineering Directorate.
 
Principle Accountabilities
 
The following qualification and experience are essential for this post:
    Research, design and develop software systems, in conjunction with hardware product development, for the RSAF operated aircraft and associated support equipment, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering and mathematical analysis.
    Analyse software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
    Consult with hardware engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, and operational and performance requirements of overall system.
    Develop system testing procedures, programs and documentation.
    Contribute technical material to selected proposals and reports to substantiate and secure program funding.
    Provide advice on pre‑proposal, proposal, and existing program efforts.
    Identify creative solutions to improve systems.
    Participate in software requirement reviews, preliminary and critical design reviews, integration readiness reviews and software acceptance reviews.
    Research problems discovered in service and develop solutions.
    Work with other engineering disciplines and management team to collectively meet requirements.
    Coordinate with project work teams to ensure adherence to policies, achievement of quality targets and delivery on schedule milestones.
    Review and recommend RSAF authorizations of software engineering modifications. Progress approval of improvement initiatives through external design organisations and technical authorities.
    Perform studies and participate in research, development and implementation of programmes to improve safety, reliability and maintainability.
    Prepare staff correspondence to organisations internal and external to the RSAF.
    Support RSAF officers at meetings and participate in design and programme management reviews.
    The jobholder is required to create original designs for software engineering solutions that demand imaginative innovation.
    The jobholder is required to be flexible to deal with a wide range of problems with rapidly changing priorities emanating from a number of different sources.
    The jobholder although occupying a digital post is expected to lead teams of senior engineers.
    Although not a budget holder the individual is responsible for ensuring that the RSAF receives the most cost effective support and value for money.
    The jobholder must be fully aware of the different funding mechanisms for RSAF projects.
    The jobholder is in constant daily contact with the customer at a senior level within HQRSAF and at all the RSAF bases providing them with a recognisable point of contact for all RSAF software engineering issues.
